I started working on a new game project called 'Space Glitch' - formerly called 'Space Shift'; I'm a super-duper big fan of space, sci-fi, futuristic and space movies, in fact, it's safe to say I've watched every movie I could find that has the prefix "star", you know what I mean right?! Movies like Star Trek, Stargate, Starship Troopers, Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars...etc.

Recently, I was reading a NASA article about white holes, so I started pondering how it's like inside a white hole, and finally, I decided to create a game about a starship lost in a white hole. No story at the moment, I just want to build a damn starship.

ModellingI Opened up Autodesk Maya and started modelling a simple starship. I ended up spending much more time because I did not have a sketch or reference of any sort. [Note: Don't do this though!]. It is always best to a have a good detailed sketch or reference. Although I finally ended up with something satisfactory! Phew! I unwrapped my UVs, which took a couple of minutes and exported my model for texturing. Yay!

Texturing
Texturing time! I made sure not to waste any time at texturing, I went for total simplicity yet again. I just wanted to start prototyping and scripting so I can fly a starship.
